BACKGROUND: 

Founded in April 1994, The Humsafar Trust (HST) is India’s first community-based organization (CBO) of self-identified homosexual men, MSM, Hijras and LBT persons. The HIV interventions of HST are supported by National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) and Mumbai District AIDS Control Society (MDACS) to provide health services to Men who have sex with men (MSM) and Transgender communities every year through Public Health Care delivery systems and its In-house clinics. HST organizes advocacy workshops for health care providers, law enforcement agencies, judiciary, legislators, politicians and political parties, Government bodies, media, student community to sensitise them on Gay, MSM and TG issues. HST also provides legal support, crisis management, mental health and nutrition counselling to its communities. 

The Humsafar Trust (HST) designated by INFOSEM network as Subrecipient (SR) to increase access to and the uptake of social protection and HIV prevention services for MSM, and TG individuals. The project will focus on strengthening the current social protection component of HIV prevention programs and increasing access to legal official documentation procedures and, utilization of social protection services among unreached MSM, and TG populations.

Verification Coordinator will act an on-site SR representative guiding and supporting the SSR in implementing this project and will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and correctness of documents related to the provision of social protection services (ID Cards, Bank Accounts, Social Protection Schemes) to KP beneficiaries.  

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Verification Coordinator is responsible for verifying all the documents submitted by the field team.   
  • The verification Coordinator will closely coordinate with the SSR team (Project Oversight, Project Coordinator, and accountant).  
  • The Verification Coordinator will check the Client Registration Form (CRF) submitted by the Community Volunteers (CV) and will prepare the softcopy line list.  
  • Checking the proof of application (for ID Cards, Bank Accounts, Social Protection Schemes) against the line list for completeness, correctness, and authenticity.  
  • The Verification Coordinator will submit a summary note to the SR Program Officer for getting payment approval.

Qualification and Skills: 

  • Graduate or its equivalent with at least two to three years’ relevant experience in the health and development sector.  
  • Non-graduate candidates from the community with significant experience of working with key populations such as female, male and transgender sex workers, MSM, and Transgender populations, will also be considered.   
  • Ability in managing multi-partner, stakeholders with tight deadlines and ambitious targets.  
  • Proven experience of working with community volunteers/facilitator  
  • Sound understanding of various documents required for processing payments.  
  • She/He should be able to understand the various documents and processes involved in facilitating the various ID cards, Bank Accounts and Social Protection Schemes.   
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in the local language  
  • Willingness to travel extensively to project implementation areas.  
  • Sound computer skills, including use of Internet, MS Office™ software, and data analytics.

Skilled and experienced in reviewing and compiling program data.
