Background:
The Humsafar Trust (HST) is India’s first community-based organization (CBO) of self-Identified homosexual mem, MSM, Hijras and LBT persons that started in April 1994. We at The Humsafar Trust, are looking for eligible candidates for the position of Finance Officer.
The Humsafar Trust (HST) designated by INFOSEM network as SubRecipient (SR) to increase access to and the uptake of social protection and HIV prevention services for MSM, and TG individuals. The project will focus on strengthening the current social protection component of HIV prevention programs and increasing access to legal official documentation procedures and, utilization of social protection services among unreached MSM, and TG populations.

The Finance Officer will play a vital role in supporting the Manager – Finance in all financial aspects of this project. The ideal candidate will be a fast thinker, resourceful problem solver and highly productive worker who delivers high quality work consistently.
Job Description/Responsibilities:

Processing and verifying vendor bills, Invoices/claims as per the set guidelines for this project.

Ensure to book expenditure as per approved budget/activity code. Identify and resolve invoicing issues, accounting discrepancies and other financial issues.

Processing and verification of staff travel bills and make arrangements for payment.

Timely payment processing and ensuring accuracy and necessary documentation.

Prepare monthly bank reconciliation within the deadline.

Preparation of Income tax calculation and salary for staff.

Timely and accurate preparation and submission of all periodic financial reports MIS and forecast as per donor and organizational requirement

Deduction of TDS, PF, and Professional Tax from the salary of staff every month and send
statement to Finance Manager.

Ensure all statutory, donor and organizational compliances are adhered to.

Ensuring all Procurements with the approval of Project Lead and Co-ordinate with HR and Administrative Manager.

Keep a track of leave balance of the project staff and provide necessary documents related to each Staff to HR team.

Make necessary payment/journal entries in the TALLY and maintain vouchers along with support documents.

Prepare and submit QFRs. Assisting in internal audits and review of fund utilization status

Any other task assigned.
Qualification, Experience and Skills:
• Graduate with at least 4-5 years of work experience. An additional qualification in management/ finance/ accounting will be an added advantage.
• Experience and knowledge of major donor financial systems.
• Strong computer skills with familiarity with Microsoft Office and accounting software like Tally.
• Experience in budgeting/auditing large/medium complex projects in the development sector.
• Experience in utilizing finance data to track and give inputs into reprogramming and implementation
• Exemplary verbal and interpersonal communications skills
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a team, know when to act independently and when to consult for advice on decision-making.
• Ability to effectively manage relationships and coordinate with a pan-India team based at different locations.
• Knowledge and fluency of at least one other Indian language
