Background:
The Humsafar Trust (HST) is India’s first community-based organization (CBO) of and for LGBTQ+ individuals that started in April 1994. HST currently implements multiple collaborative studies focus on developing strategy to reach out to MSM using social media, feasibility and acceptability of new HIV prevention technologies, pilot-testing culturally relevant health care providers (HCP)-focused intervention to reduce HIV/STI-related stigma and discrimination towards transfeminine people and randomized control trial to address the unique psychosocial context among Indian MSM.
Project description:
We are looking at recruiting a Research Coordinator under Project CARET: Project ‘CARET: Consortium for Advancing LGBTQ+ Health Research, Policy Engagement & Training’. The following are the goals of this study:

Generation of research evidence on the health status of LGBTQ+ people and training interventions for healthcare provider

Increased networking and collaborations among researchers, service providers, community
-
organisations, government, and other key stakeholders
-
Increased numbers of trained researchers to conduct LGBTQ+ health research.

Increased numbers of culturally competent, LGBTQ+-affirmative health professionals
-
Increased awareness of LGBTQ+ health issues/inequities among policymakers/govt. officials
Roles and responsibilities
Coordination & management
-
Overall coordination/management of the research study.
-
Liaison with the partner agencies (CBOs/NGOs) in Mumbai.
-
Assist in identifying and recruiting field workers in Mumbai.

Coordinate both qualitative and quantitative research components in Mumbai and be responsible for keeping up with the timelines.
Research implementation, capacity building, monitoring & supervision

Assist in finalizing the data collection tools.
-
Assist in the translation of study tools.
-
Monitoring data collection activities at the study site.
-
Responsible for data management, data cleaning and data transfer.
-
Conduct periodical review meetings with the field staff.
-
Actively participate in trainings and workshops.
-
Proper maintenance of all of research-related equipment’s such as digital voice recorders and Laptop.

Other research tasks as assigned by the Principal Investigator.
Review & reporting
-
Submission of monthly progress report .
-
Assist in data analysis and report writing.
-
Periodical meetings (in-person or virtual) with relevant partner agencies.

Participate in review meetings.
