Social Media Intern

Location: The Humsafar Trust Advocacy, Mumbai (Hybrid)

Duration: 3-6 Months (with the possibility of extension)

Compensation: Stipend (as per organizational policy)

 

About Us:

The Humsafar Trust is one of India’s leading organizations working on LGBTQ+ health and well-being, providing support, and raising awareness through various initiatives. Our mission is to create an inclusive and supportive environment for the community, and we are seeking a passionate and creative intern to join our Advocacy team. Position Overview: We are looking for a Social Media Intern to help us enhance our digital presence, expand our reach, and promote the various activities and initiatives of The Humsafar Trust. If you're a fresh, creative mind with a passion for social media, content creation, and community advocacy, we would love to have you onboard. This is an excellent opportunity for someone from the LGBTQ+ community with an interest or background in media or social media content creation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation & Curation: Design, curate, and manage content for The Humsafar Trust’s social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube).

Social Media Calendar: Develop and maintain a social media calendar to ensure consistent and engaging content that aligns with organizational objectives.

Trend Spotting: Keep up with the latest social media trends and use them to create innovative and engaging content.

Event Coverage: Capture and document important events, workshops, and initiatives to be shared on our social media channels.

Community Engagement: Engage with our followers, respond to comments and messages, and help build an online community.

Collaborative Campaigns: Work closely with the Advocacy team to develop and execute paid and non-paid campaigns that promote health, and well-being of the LGBTQ+ community in India.

Analytics & Reporting: Monitor performance metrics on all social media platforms and provide insights for improvement.

 

Skills & Qualifications:

• Passionate about LGBTQ+ advocacy and community-building.

• Prior experience or education in media, communications, or social media management is preferred.

• Strong understanding of social media platforms, paid promotion and content creation tools.

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

• Creativity and ability to think outside the box when it comes to storytelling and messaging.

• Familiarity with graphic design and video editing tools is a plus (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
